Candidates who have updated their biodata with the National Identity Management Commission but cannot retrieve the changes due to lost phone numbers can now use an alternative method to complete their registration.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced on its official X account that affected candidates may access a requery service through their previously registered email addresses to obtain updated biodata information.
This solution targets students who recently modified their NIMC records but face obstacles pulling the corrected data for fresh registration because they no longer have access to their registered SIM cards.
The Board clarified that this email based requery facility operates exclusively at JAMB Professional Registration Centres nationwide and is not available through regular Computer Based Test centres or via online channels.
Candidates encountering this problem have been instructed to visit any JAMB Professional Registration Centre with their registration documents and valid identification to utilise the service.
The announcement addresses a significant barrier affecting many 2026 UTME candidates whose updated NIMC biodata have failed to sync with the JAMB system owing to phone number accessibility challenges.
This development comes as registration for the 2026 examination continues, with JAMB maintaining its deadline of 26th February 2026 without possibility of extension.
The requery service provides relief to students who would otherwise be unable to proceed with registration despite having properly updated their information on the NIMC platform, a requirement for all candidates seeking to sit the examination.
JAMB’s intervention demonstrates responsiveness to practical challenges faced by candidates during the registration process, particularly those arising from the integration of multiple databases and authentication systems.
Candidates are encouraged to take advantage of this facility promptly to avoid last minute complications as the registration deadline approaches.
