The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has activated the subject combination correction portal for candidates registered for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), allowing over 1.5 million registered candidates to rectify errors in their subject selections.

The board announced the development on Thursday morning, 19 February, via a statement posted on its official X page. The correction window will allow candidates who made mistakes during registration to adjust their subject choices before sitting the examination.

JAMB disclosed that as of Tuesday, 17 February, it had registered over 1.5 million candidates for the 2026 UTME. However, the board noted that registration centres across Nigeria are operating at barely 30 per cent capacity despite having the ability to process 100,000 candidates daily.

The board observed that the number of new registrations has declined significantly and attributed this to candidates who “deliberately delay registration until the final days,” a trend it warned could lead to avoidable complications.

JAMB has maintained its position that there will be no extension to the registration deadline. The sale of electronic PINs will close at midnight on Thursday, 26 February 2026, while registration at accredited centres will end on Saturday, 28 February 2026.

The board urged candidates who have not yet registered to complete the process immediately to avoid last minute difficulties.
