Jigawa State has recorded a total of 12,860 registrations for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as the deadline for electronic PIN vending draws near.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Public Relations Officer in the state, Mukarram Bello Adamu, disclosed the figures in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday in Dutse, the state capital. He said the registrations took place across 16 computer based test centres spread throughout the state.
Federal University Dutse centres led the registration figures with 4,936 candidates, followed by Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel, with 2,287 candidates. The JAMB State Office in Dutse registered 1,740 candidates, while Future Map Foundation Centre, Hadejia, accounted for 1,662 candidates, and Bunyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia, registered 1,622 candidates.
BHT Inter Systems Dutse registered 1,091 candidates, Al Hikmah CBT Centre Birnin Kudu recorded 728 candidates, and G City College of Nursing Sciences, Gwaram, registered 678 candidates. Other centres include Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic, Kazaure, with 596 candidates, Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure, with 569 candidates, and Jigawa State College of Advanced and Remedial Studies, Babura, with 134 candidates. Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa, registered 28 candidates.
Adamu reminded candidates that the vending of UTME PINs would close on 26 February, while registration at centres would end on 28 February. He announced that Direct Entry registration would commence on 2 March 2026 and continue until 25 April 2026, with registrations taking place exclusively at the JAMB office in Dutse.
He urged candidates who were yet to register to take advantage of the remaining time and complete the process before the deadline. “The registration process is ongoing, and candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline,” he stated, assuring candidates of a smooth registration experience.
