Anambra State has received 10,000 slots in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Scholarship Scheme, which will provide free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board registration for 50,000 students across the South East region.

Each of the five South East states will receive 10,000 slots, with every beneficiary getting N8,500 to cover registration fees for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The National Coordinator of the South East Renewed Hope Agenda, Mr. Belusochukwu Enwerem, launched the programme in Anambra, describing it as evidence of President Tinubu’s commitment to quality education and youth empowerment.

Mr. Enwerem said the event marked more than a formal launch, calling it a movement of hope and empowerment that demonstrates financial limitations need not define the future of students in Anambra State. He described education as the strongest foundation for sustainable development and positioned the programme as a deliberate investment in thousands of future doctors, engineers, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, innovators, and national leaders.

He clarified that the initiative is not charity but strategic empowerment aligned with the Renewed Hope vision of youth inclusion, improved access to education, and long term human capital development.

Mr. Enwerem urged beneficiaries to approach the opportunity with discipline, determination, and excellence while preparing seriously for their examinations. He told parents and guardians that the programme is designed to ease financial pressure and affirm that their children’s future truly matters.

The State Coordinator of the Anambra State Chapter of the South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SARHA), Comrade Alphonsus Muonagolu, said it was a source of joy that students across the 21 local government areas of Anambra State are among the beneficiaries. He thanked President Tinubu for the gesture and urged beneficiaries to register for the examination and perform excellently.

Miss Chiziterem Ezenwaobasiri, one of the beneficiaries, expressed happiness over the initiative. Two other beneficiaries, Chizoba Chukwumaejim and Patrick Onuora, appreciated the President and prayed God to sustain him. Others who spoke noted that President Tinubu has removed a burden from parents seeking to secure higher education for their children.
