“We must all come together to build trust and reduce trauma.” That was the charge from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, as he addressed staff during his first official visit to some of the Board’s outstation offices on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The visit formed part of Aina’s maiden tour since assuming office, giving him the chance to engage directly with staff and observe their day to day operations and challenges.
Speaking to workers at the stations, the Registrar stressed that quality customer service sits at the heart of JAMB’s operations. He assured staff that management would back them with the tools, training and institutional support needed to carry out their duties efficiently.
Aina revealed that the Board intends to keep rolling out deliberate strategies, fresh initiatives and appropriate technologies designed to improve services and enhance the overall experience of candidates.
He also called on staff to embrace teamwork, professionalism and a shared sense of purpose, pointing particularly to the need to respond to Generation Z candidates, who account for a significant share of the Board’s clientele.
Every interaction with a candidate, the Registrar noted, gives JAMB a chance to strengthen public confidence in its processes. He urged staff to stay courteous, responsive and solutions focused in their daily dealings with candidates.
The Registrar praised staff for the warm reception he received and encouraged them to stay resilient and adaptable in the face of shifting demands within the public service environment.
In response, staff at the visited stations congratulated Aina on his appointment and wished him a fruitful tenure. They described the visit as a step toward stronger engagement between the Board’s leadership and its workforce, offering a platform to exchange ideas on service delivery.
Workers pledged their continued dedication, professionalism and teamwork, assuring the Registrar of their full support as JAMB pushes forward with its mandate under his leadership.
