Ekiti State has officially launched the 2026 edition of its free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) e-PIN distribution scheme, with 3,400 students set to benefit. The wife of the state governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, presided over the launch ceremony yesterday in Ado Ekiti, urging beneficiaries to demonstrate diligence and pursue excellence in their examinations to justify the government’s investment in their future.
Dr Oyebanji highlighted that the government’s support carries significant expectations, emphasising that the success of beneficiaries would honour their families, contribute to Ekiti State’s progress and inspire younger generations to harbour ambitious aspirations. She disclosed that the state government has maintained an annual provision of 3,000 JAMB forms, positioning the programme as a key component of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to delivering democratic benefits to young people and advancing human capital development priorities.
She stated that “Under the purposeful and visionary leadership of Governor Oyebanji, the government has continued to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to human capital development, with education occupying a central place in its development agenda. This administration has consistently pursued policies and programmes that remove barriers to learning and ensure every child has the opportunity to optimise his or her potential.”
According to Dr Oyebanji, providing free JAMB e-PINs for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) extends beyond enabling registration, representing a deliberate strategy to unlock opportunities and demonstrate the conviction that every hardworking and gifted Ekiti child deserves legitimate access to higher education.
The Chairperson of the Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education, Chief Moji Fafure, characterised the initiative as tangible proof of government responsiveness to citizens’ educational ambitions. Similarly, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Prof. Akeem Azeez, Head of Service, Dr. Folakemi Olomojobi, Commissioner for Information, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun, and Commissioner for Education, Dr. Bimpe Aderiye, praised the administration for its continuous assistance to disadvantaged students throughout the state.
