Candidates who missed the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have been given a final chance to sit the test, with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) confirming Saturday, 13th June, 2026 as the date for the mop up exercise.

JAMB revealed that the exercise covers candidates who physically presented themselves and were biometrically verified during the main examination window but were unable to complete the test. The primary examination ran from 16th to 25th April, 2026, a period during which technical failures at certain centres left several candidates without the opportunity to sit the paper.

Beyond technical difficulties, the board noted that some candidates had their results withdrawn following examination infractions, while others who reported to their centres could not be verified biometrically. All three categories of affected candidates have been captured on the mop up list.

JAMB directed eligible candidates to commence printing their Examination Notification Slips from Saturday, 6th June 2026, giving them one week to retrieve their slips before the examination date. The board urged candidates to study their assigned centres carefully and complete all logistics well before 13th June. All the steps involved in printing the slip and getting ready, has been explained here: Learn How to Print Your 2026 JAMB Supplementary or Mop Up Exam Slip.

The board stressed that the mop up represents the absolute final stage of the 2026 UTME cycle, warning that no additional sitting would be granted to any candidate after the exercise. JAMB described the mop up as the standard concluding phase of the annual examination process, designed specifically to resolve outstanding cases involving candidates who duly reported but faced unforeseen obstacles.

Eligible candidates are advised to act without delay on the slip printing instruction, as failure to prepare ahead of the date will leave no further recourse.
