As a UTME candidate seeking to study any course under the Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences, your subject combinations must be Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Also, do not forget that the “Use of English”, otherwise known as English Language is a compulsory subject.

Special Considerations on the Subject Combinations for Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences 2025
- ABUAD accepts Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
- BABCOCK accepts any three (3) of Physics, Chemistry Biology and Mathematics.
- BSU, UNIZIK, EBSU, CALABAR and PHC require Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- OOU accepts any three (3) of Physics/Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.
- ILORIN requires Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- ABU requires Use of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- PHC requires Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- EUI requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- FUTA requires Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry/Physics.
- FUTO requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
O’Level Requirements for Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences UTME Candidates
For admission success, you must have Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics. Note that the O’level requirements is solely based on the institution involved and the course you intend studying.
Special Considerations on O’Level Requirements for Medical, Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences 2025
- DELSU requires SSC ‘O’ Level or its equivalent with credit passes in at least five (5) subject which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in not more than two sittings.
- FUTA requires five (5) SSC credit passes or its equivalent at a maximum of two (2) sittings in the following subjects: Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
- FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology in not more than two (2) sittings
- UNN requires candidates in addition to minimum entry requirements to have ‘0’ level credit passes in English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at not more than one (1) sitting.
- FUTO requires at least five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology in not more than two (2) sittings.
- LAGOS requires Five O/Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
- ABU requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Biology, Chemistry and Physics in addition to the UTME requirements.
Special Considerations for Direct Entry Candidates
- ABUAD requires three (3) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
- CALABAR and PHC-No direct entry.
- EBSU accepts B.Sc 2nd class upper division in any Biological Science programme plus ‘O’ Level credit passes in English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at one (1) sitting.
- LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level or its equivalent with good passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ND with upper credit in related programme plus the UTME requirements may be considered for admission into 200 level.
- DELSU requires HSC or GCE ‘A’ Level or its equivalent passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology (Botany may be
- accepted in lieu of Biology or Zoology;
- First degree in relevant Biological Sciences not below Second Class Lower Division.
- FED-DUTSE requires three (3) ‘A’ Level subjects in Biology, Chemistry and Physics obtained from IJMB.
- ILORIN accepts two (2) ’A’ Level passes chosen from Biology, Chemistry and Physics in addition to the UTME requirements.
