O’Level Requirements for Education UTME Candidates

UTME candidates are to have in their possession, a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics. Five (5) TC II merit including English Language and Mathematics.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Education 2026

Any three (3) of Literature In English, History, French, Geography/Physics, Economics and Mathematics are the subjects you are to combine for any of the courses offered in Faculty of Education.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Two (2)’A’ Level passes from Literature in English, History, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo with ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics. NCE merit in the subjects listed above are some of the Direct Entry requirements.

Special Considerations on Brochure for Education 2026

  1. LAGOS accepts English Language and any three of Literature-in-English, History, Government, Geography, any Nigerian Language, CRS/IRS, Economics.
  2. ABUJA and EKSU accept any three (3) Social Science subjects.
  3. CALABAR accepts any three (3) of Literature in English, History/Government, Geography, Economics, Christian Religious Studies and Mathematics.
  4. FED-OYE EKITI requires Economics, Mathematics and one other Social Science/Arts subject.
  5. EKSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting.
  6. ABUJA and CALABAR do not insist on credit pass in Economics.
  7. FED-OYE EKITI requires five (5) SSC credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics.
  8. CALABAR requires three (3) years post NCE qualification experience plus the ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics
  9. ABSU – for three (3)-year programme, offers it as Educational Management.
  10. FED-OYE EKITI requires two (2)’A’ level passes/NCE (merit/credit) in relevant subjects.
